Yes. Painting off the vehicle is the standard approach for body kits and gives you better coverage and finish control. Sand each panel, apply primer, then your base and clear coat. This method also prevents overspray on trim and glass during installation.

Do I need seam tape or gap filler between the kit panels and OEM body?

Gap filler depends on your panel fitment and preference. Minor gaps are normal with body kits. Use flexible polyurethane filler or gap sealant to smooth transitions, then sand and paint. Check each seam after a dry fit to assess what you'll need.

Is this a complete replacement or does it bolt to the existing body?
