About Chevron Beads:
The technique for making Chevron beads was invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the Chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads have been discovered with up to 10 layers, predominantly in blue, with red, green, and black being rarer colors. The name "Chevron" refers to its zigzag pattern, and these beads are also known as Star Beads or Rosetta Beads. Production of Chevron beads later spread to the Netherlands.
