Derived from the French word cloison (meaning "to separate") in this process fine metals are soldered to create an outline of the desired pattern. These compartments are filled with different colors of opaque enamel, and the metallic outline emphasizes the intricacy of the design. I especially appreciate the tubular shape of the choker, with the design extending 360-degrees, visible from every angle. It opens with a hinge, and the interior diameter measures 4. 75", with a thickness of 3/8".
