Vintage 1940s strapless cotton dress with sweet details.  Gathered bust sides, piping at the waist and large bow at the back.  Appears to be handmade.

Condition

Fair to good, with a few minor flaws.  There is a visible rust spot at the bottom of the back of the skirt (see image).  There are a couple smaller fainter rust spots on the front of the skirt, less noticeable.

The dress appears to be handmade and was altered at some point.  I removed a wonky alteration at the top middle front of the bust, which left a few needle pricks in the fabric (see image).  The hem was also hand-stitched.

Lastly there are two small wear spots that began to form holes at each side of the upper bodice (see image).  These have been patched from behind for support.  The dress still presents very well and the price has been altered in light of minor flaws.
