FABRIC & CARE

FABRIC CONTENTS: 100% Silk 12MM Crêpe de Chine

Silk has been renowned for centuries as a valuable and luxurious commodity, often associated with wealth and status. The strongest of natural fibers, silk retains its shape, drapes well, caresses the figure, and because of its high absorbency, it is easily garment dyed in a variety of deep colors. This 100% Washable Silk Crêpe de Chine is woven to have a supple, organic feel, unlike many fabrics woven with synthetic fibers. With a 12 mommes weight factor, our Eco-friendly silk of choice is lightweight but is suitable for sewing into many body styles designed for women's silk clothing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low, or line dry (use non-absorbent hanger). Warm, steam iron (silk setting). Dry Clean OK.

Our sleeveless Melane Blouse features a round band collar that flows into V-shaped neckline. The button down front is twin stitched for reinforcement. The round bottom hem falls to the hips and is fashionably lower on the backside. The yoke is finished with a wide, centered pleat. There is subtle single-needle stitching throughout which supports the elegant styling of this loose fitting silhouette. Garment dyed richness also adds distinctive character to this versatile top, which pairs easily with pants, leggings and designer jeans. Our Basso fabric print draws inspiration from the renowned 19th century lace work, “Broderie Anglaise”, also referred to as “whitework”, which is a needlework technique incorporating embroidery, cutwork and needle lace. This type of lace fabrication today often showcases that intricate eyelet cutwork rendered in floral motifs accompanied by garden trellis patterns. The primary design element of our Basso print here features a mélange of Broderie Anglaise patterns which highlight wild roses in bloom and bud. The secondary element is an interconnecting netting of trellis swirls and vinery. Gorgeous muted colors impart a genteel elegance and romantic visual appeal that is decidedly feminine. This sublime artistry wonderfully complements the sumptuous drape of our premium, washable Silk Crêpe de Chine.
