Original vintage 1940s Chinese silk brocade maxi robe or house dress.

This stunning piece is all about the beautiful fabric. Most likely from Hong Kong and for the export market the colour is a soft blue, somewhat faded with delicate floral village motifs often seen in Chinese textile design. 
The robe is softly shaped with a fitted bodice, nipped in waist and flared skirt with matching flared sleeves. 
Fastening with an early metal zip down the front (this would have been a novelty in the early 40s)
