Description: Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads were etched with patterns using a natron solution derived from plants, then baked at a low temperature of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. Although they have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that the beads were crafted in the Indus River region and transported via land and sea routes.
