The AWE Tuning SwitchPath Exhaust

AWE Tuning SwitchPath Exhaust Technology is a proprietary solution that utilizes valves in the exhaust to control tone and volume. While maintaining the 428is factory valve operation, SwitchPath Technology keeps the 428i quiet and comfortable while cruising, but give it the boot and youll unlock an aggressive and fulfilling exhaust note. The SwitchPath Exhaust is offered in a quad tip configuration only, and comes complete with a Non-Resonated Performance Mid Pipe to deliver an extra dose of aggression to the SwitchPath soundtrack when youre ready to let it rip.

The AWE Tuning SwitchPath Remote

The SwitchPath Remote and accompanying control box, which are included with the SwitchPath Exhaust, overrides the factory valving enables complete control over your exhaust valves from within the cabin at any time with the press of a button. The AWE Tuning SwitchPath Remote comes complete as a kit with two remotes, two mounting brackets, the SwitchPath Controller, one AWE Tuning Valve Simulator, and easy to follow instructions.

The AWE Tuning Touring Edition Exhaust

The AWE Tuning Touring Edition Exhaust is straight-through axle back system available as either dual outlet (single side, two tips) or quad outlet (two tips on each side), and leverages AWE Tunings proprietary drone-cancelling solution, 180 Technology, to produce the perfect, drone free exhaust note. Sound Perfection: AWE Tuning 180 Technology

Perfect tone comes compliments of AWE Tuning 180 Technology.

As exhaust gases exit the 428i engine and flow into an AWE Tuning 180 Technology equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. The AWE Tuning Performance Mid Pipes

Resonated Performance Mid Pipe

The Resonated Performance Mid Pipe is offered as an option to compliment the Touring Edition Exhaust. With the Resonated Performance Mid Pipe in place, the Touring Edition axle back is transformed into a full downpipe-back system, replacing the factory mid section (and the secondary catalytic converter on N26 motors) with straight-through 3 T304 stainless steel tubing.

Tip options:

All F3x 428i systems are 80mm and double walled, available in either Chrome Silver or Diamond Black.

Whats in the box?

Complete SwitchPath or Touring Edition Exhaust, or Performance Mid Pipe itself, exhaust tips (two or four), and all clamps and hardware required for installation.
