Product Overview

Traditional diode isolators introduce a voltage drop of around 0.6V to 0.7V between the charging source and the battery. Over a charge cycle, this means batteries consistently receive less than the target charge voltage, leading to chronic undercharging. The Argofet 100-2 uses MOSFET technology to eliminate this drop, so the voltage at the battery terminals matches the output of the alternator or charger directly.

The isolator works by allowing current to flow freely from the input to both battery banks during charging, while blocking reverse current flow between the banks. If one battery bank is heavily discharged, it cannot draw down the other bank through the isolator. This makes it particularly useful in dual-bank setups where a starter battery and a service or leisure battery must remain independent during use but be charged from the same source.
