Non-sterile Minisart® HY syringe filters are supplied in bulk packs. This reduces waste and makes the handling easier whenever the application allows filtration or venting under non-sterile conditions. The low-binding PTFE membrane is the best option for leachable free filtration. Due to its hydrophobic nature the PTFE membrane functions as a water barrier and does not become wetted by aerosols. This keeps the hydrophobic venting filter permeable for gas or air! The housing of the filter is made of MBS (Methacrylate butadiene styrene) which has a limited compatibility with alcohols but is free of phthalates and passes the plastic class VI test. It is glueable, e.g. to tubing, what enables assembly and sterilization by the user. Housing and membrane are tightly connected which allows bidirectional use.
