How to use it

• Seat the bowl on your stem with a silicone grommet for a tight seal.
• Pack to just below the rim — fluff for blondes, a touch denser for dark leaf.
• Cover with foil and poke holes, or drop your HMD straight onto the lip.
• Add 2–3 fully-lit coconut coals and adjust heat as the session progresses.

Care & cleaning

• Always let the bowl cool naturally — never shock high-fired clay with cold water.
• Rinse with warm water and a soft brush to clear residue.
• Air-dry fully before storing.
• Because of the high firing temperature, ghosting is minimal — a warm rinse is enough between flavours.

Common questions

Will my Kaloud Lotus or Provost fit on this Kong bowl?

Yes — the rim is sized for standard HMDs. If you've got a particularly oversized device, drop into our Melbourne store and we'll test the fit on the counter.

Does the high firing temperature actually matter?

It does — bowls fired at lower temperatures soak up tobacco oils and start ghosting flavours within a few months. Kong's 1200°C firing keeps the ceramic dense and clean for the long haul.
