Our proven mountaineering backpack, tested everywhere from the Canadian Rockies to the Fitz Roy massif, the Black Diamond Speed ​​??is designed for lightweight performance on rock, snow and ice everywhere. Featuring an updated BD X-rip 210d fabric with UTS™ coating, the new Speed ​​is built to withstand mountain abuse season after season. Numerous portions are removable to save weight: the belt, the lid and the frame. We've also improved comfort with an improved breathable backpanel and redesigned dual-density foam shoulder straps for better load distribution during the approach while still performing on the trail. The PickPockets™ for ice axes now feature a new custom metal dogbone attachment, which increases the security of attaching ice tools, in addition to straps  intended to carry crampons smoothly and a concealed rope strap to secure equipment outdoors. Surface-mounted glove-friendly main hood buckles are a new addition and the drawstring skirt offers easy access and keeps out spindrift and light precip.
