A big, bold, brash amaro that verges on Fernet in character, Santa Maria Al Monte was originally developed by Franciscan monks in Genoa in the 19th century. Still made in the Northwest coastal region of Liguria, it is a classic for those who simply want MORE from their amaro, aged for a year in oak and bursting at the proof seams at 40% abv. The maceration consists of 36 herbs, including various barks, roots, rhubarb, chichona, spearmint, gentian and bitter orange.
