A luminous cream ground, Iranian-inspired motif-work carried by pile depth rather than color contrast, and a weave dense enough to keep the tonal detail readable in any light. The Cream 1.5-million-point Persian is the most refined palette in the line — the rug that brightens a room without overwhelming it.
The cream-on-cream palette is the most demanding face of the Persian tradition. It descends from antique "white-ground" Tabriz and Isfahan compositions where the field carried the design through subtle tonal shifts and pile-depth alone — palettes built without strong color contrast, the harder to weave and the more refined for it. Our 1.5-million-point edition draws from that lineage: a cream Iranian-inspired ground in a contemporary Turkish weave, built durable enough for everyday Sacramento rooms but visually composed to read closer to an antique court rug than to a modern commercial piece.
This is our highest-density Persian-inspired tier — about 25% denser than our standard 1200-reed line. On a cream-on-cream palette the density isn't decorative; it's structural. At lower densities the tonal motif-work disappears into the field. At 1.5 million points, the design reads crisply at viewing distance, the pile carries the cushioned weight of a hand-knotted piece, and the cream tonal range stays luminous rather than chalky. Engineered for color stability — the cream stays cream, no warming toward yellow under bright window light and no greying in north-facing rooms.

Cream is the most versatile palette in the line — and the most light-dependent. In north-facing or low-light rooms it amplifies what light is there, making the room read brighter and larger; in bright south-facing rooms it can wash out, so weight the scheme with stronger upholstery (charcoal linen, navy velvet, deep cognac leather). Pairs naturally with white-oak or ash floors, linen-and-brass Scandinavian-luxury palettes, and any transitional scheme where the rug should recede rather than anchor. Avoid pairing with high-contrast modernist black-and-white or polished chrome — the palette wants softness around it.
Bright living rooms, master bedrooms, formal sitting rooms, and any space where the goal is luminosity over saturation. Particularly suited to homes with pale-wood floors, linen upholstery, or brass accents — and to rooms where the rug should support the architecture rather than compete with it. Less suited to high-traffic family rooms with pets or young children, where the lighter ground will show wear faster than the warm-earth palettes.
The 1.5-million-point line is the upper end of our Persian-inspired curation — represented in Sacramento by a small group of palettes (cream, cream-and-brown, light blue, navy, and rose). If you'd like to compare them side by side or see the pile in person, our Carmichael showroom holds representative pieces.
