Intention: Nourishing facial moisturizer, night serum, and gua shua oil

Raindrop Remedies Skin Cordial is a blend of herb-infused oils, hydrosols, aloe vera, and essential oils that is nourishing, healing, and moisturizing to your delicate facial skin.  

Ingredients: Oils (Olive, Sunflower, Jojoba, Camellia, Rosehip Seed & Vitamin E), Aloe Vera (aloe vera fillet, and may contain potassium sorbate, citric acid, sodium benzoate, and/or xantham gum), organic Hydrosols (Lavender, Lemon Balm, Ylang Ylang & Chamomile), Herbs (Calendula & Chamomile), Rosemary Oleoresin, and Essential Oils (Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Lemongrass, Frankincense, Rosemary, Helichrysum, Bergamot, Blue Chamomile) 

Why We Chose These Ingredients*:

• Olive Oil - Vitamins A, D, K & E, moisturizing, anti-oxidants
• Sunflower Oil - vitamins A, D, E, and lecithin (locks in moisture and helps with skin irritations)
• Jojoba Oil - liquid wax that is similar to our skin sebum, softens and smooths dry skin, regulates oily skin
• Camellia Oil - antioxidants, good for most skin types, but especially mature skin, Vitamins A, D, E, K and polyphenols
• Rosehip Seed Oil -  antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and can help strengthen and tone arteries and veins
• Vitamin E Oil - fat-soluble vitamin, antioxidants, helps create barrier to keep skin moisture in, helps to preserve product by preventing oxidation (breakdown) of oils
• Aloe Vera - We use organic commercially prepared aloe because fresh aloe will spoil within about a week without preservatives, even if refrigerated

• • Potassium Sorbate - a naturally occurring unsaturated fatty acid, food safe, has the lowest allergenic potential of all food preservatives
  • Citric Acid - naturally occurring acid found in fruits, lowers pH to discourage microbial growth, food safe
• Calendula - speeds tissue healing, dry skin and eczema conditions, astringent
• Chamomile - antispasmodic, nervine, aromatic, may help reduce signs of aging by protecting the skin from free radical damage
• Hydrosols are plant waters that are very hydrating and refreshing:
  • Lavender - suitable for all skin types, helpful for delicate and mature skin, healing and soothing
  • Lemon Balm - calming, anti-depressive, anti-inflammatory
  • Ylang Ylang - regulates sebum production, balancing toner for oily and combination skin, helps skin retain moisture, calming
  • Chamomile - antibacterial, good for stimulating circulation and vein health

• Our own Essential Oil blend:
  • Rosemary essential oil - increases circulation, uplifting, smells lovely
  • Helichrysum essential oil - restorative, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial
  • Frankincense essential oil - boosts circulation
  • Lemongrass essential oil -antiseptic, uplifting, relieves muscle and joint pains, antimicrobial
  • Lavender essential oil - moisturizing, non-comedogenic for pores, antibacterial
  • Ylang Ylang essential oil - healing, smells amazing, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressive
  • Bergamot essential oil - anti-microbial, promotes skin cell renewal, helps to even and tone complexion pigments, acne fighter
  • Roman Blue Chamomile essential oil - anti-inflammatory, fights infection, calms dry, irritated or flaky skin conditions, promotes healing

• Sodium Benzonate - food safe, water-soluble salt of benzoic acid inhibits the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold. Used in some hydrosols and aloe vera that we use (less than 0.1%; We do not add extra)

Use: 

To enjoy this pleasant moisturizer, start with clean face and hands. Shake the bottle gently before using to mix the layers. Apply about a half dropper or less to your hand and lightly mix, then apply to your face in a light, upward sweeping motion.  Allow a few moments for Skin Cordial to absorb into your skin, and enjoy the hydrating and healing feeling of your skin saying "Thank you, that was so nice!"

Enjoy as a night serum, under moisturizer, as a moisturizer, or use it as a Gua Sha oil to lubricate the skin. 

Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese technique of lightly scraping the skin with a stone (like jade). The purpose is to improve blood flow, promote the flow of chi (energy) and reduce inflammation. The skin needs an oil or lubricant on it to allow the stone to glide along the skin.  Check out our blog How to Gua Sha for more information.
