CHARBONNEL BLACK 55981

Black 55981 is one of seven black inks available in the Charbonnel Water-Washable lineup. This particular black is meant for intaglio techniques like etching, engraving, and aquatint. It's very viscous and dark. It is easier to wipe than 55985. It's ideal for bringing out blacks in deep etchings. It can also be used for extra-dark relief printmaking.

INKS FOR MODERN PRINTMAKERS

These impressively pigmented, oil-based printmaking inks from Charbonnel have a special feature: they clean up easily with regular soap and water. In fact, these inks are actually easier to clean up than acrylics because they take so much longer to dry on the inking plate. Acrylics have to be scraped off, while Charbonnel Water-Washable Oils simply dissolve under hot water. No solvents or hazardous chemicals needed.
