Photos do this one no justice either as they flatten out the curves of the bowl, strip it of some of its nuance and make it appear a bit darker than it is, but so it goes. I think it is really beautiful, with a Southwestern feel, and would feel quite at home amid a collection of Native American pueblo pottery in a complimentary sort of way. Hand-thrown of stoneware then altered, and signed what looks to me to be R. Shannen on the underside. Quite striking. I might guess 1970s-80s or so.
