Dexcom G5 CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) Transmitter is FDA-approved, and is a device that will assist in reaching your glycemic goals without increasing the risk of hypoglycemia. A traditional meter simply gives you your number for that specific point in time, while a continuous system provides real-time, dynamic information showing where the glucose is and where it is heading at any point in time. The transmitter gets fastened directly over the sensor and will send your data wirelessly to you receiver or smart phone.

The Dexcom G5 mobile app gives you the information you need quickly at a glance. With Bluetooth Technology that is now built into the transmitter, your glucose data is sent wirelessly from the Dexcom G5 transmitter to your compatible smart device. Simply turn on your compatible smart device with the Dexcom G5 mobile app and stay one step ahead of your diabetes. Dexcom G5 mobile will give you glucose information with readings every five minutes. Through secure wireless connections, the Dexcom G5 mobile CGM System allows remote viewing of glucose levels, trends and data between the person with diabetes from their compatible smart device. With the Dexcom G5 mobile CGM System, you'll be alerted directly on your phone when you're heading too high or too low. Alerts and alarm sounds can also be customized to appear as a text message, allowing for additional discretion and privacy.

• This Dexcom transmitter consists of three parts: Small Sensor that measures glucose levels just underneath the skin.
• Transmitter that is fastened on top of the sensor and sends data wirelessly to your compatible smart device or your receiver.
• A Display Device which can be a compatible smart device with the Dexcom G5 mobile app or the Dexcom G5 Mobile Receiver.
• Either choice of display will show your glucose trends in vivid colors so you can easily see when it's high, low or within range.

Notes:

This transmitter is designed to work exclusively with the Dexcom G5 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)  System. 

Your Dexcom G5 Mobile transmitter is covered under a limited warranty for three months, starting from the first day it is used. The battery can drain in three months or longer. Once you see the transmitter 'Low Battery' screen, replace the transmitter as soon as possible. Your transmitter battery may drain as quickly as one week after this alert appears, which will not allow you to be able to transmit your data and manage your levels.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

In order to use this transmitter you will need a Dexcom Sensor as well as the Dexcom receiver , or a compatible smartphone or device (See below).
