What the Ayara actually does

Fit check before you buy

The Ayara works with any hookah where you can remove the existing diffuser first — so check what your pipe currently has. It accepts downstems 8–16 mm in diameter and needs a base neck opening of at least 36 mm. If you're unsure, drop into Melbourne's Shisha Store and our team will check your hookah against the adapter in person.

How to fit it

• Remove the existing diffuser from your hookah's downstem.
• Wet the silicone portion of the Ayara adapter for easier installation.
• Slide the adapter onto the immersion tube — push firmly but slowly through the silicone seal.
• Click a fresh Ayara Large pod into the adapter housing.
• Set the water level so the ceramic diffuser base sits around 10–12 mm below the waterline.
• Smoke as normal — the carbon pod filters automatically as you draw.
• Swap pods when flavour dulls, a woody note appears, or the draw tightens (typically every 30–60 sessions).

Care

• Rinse the adapter with hot water after each session.
• Deep clean periodically with mild dish soap and a soft brush — avoid harsh chemicals on the anodised aluminium.
• Dry thoroughly before storing to protect the ceramic diffuser.
• Do not rinse or try to regenerate spent pods — just swap them out.

Does this fit any hookah?

Universally, yes — as long as you can remove the existing diffuser first and your downstem sits in the 8–16 mm range. If you're running a fixed diffuser you can't remove, the Ayara won't fit.

How long does a pod actually last?

Between 30 and 60 sessions depending on session length, how wet your shisha is, and how heavily you smoke. You'll know it's time to swap when flavour starts dulling or the draw tightens.

Can I see it in store?

Yes — we keep the Ayara range on display at Melbourne's Shisha Store in all three finishes. Come in and our team will walk you through the installation on your own pipe if you bring it.
