We do not recommend bearings for inferior headset ranges. Instead, we start with chrome steel, Black Oxide A/C, and finally 440C stainless steel bearings. They are always constructed with the largest possible balls, and their double-lip seals are seated in a small recess for ultimate protection against sweat and the (natural) elements. They are 90% filled with high-pressure grease, so you don't have to wonder if there's grease inside. BLACK OXIDE: Enduro bearings use races made of 52100 chrome alloy and high-grade carbon, which have undergone thermal and cryogenic treatment. This means everything is brought to a temperature of –190°C, which ensures a certain hardness and thus reduces ball wear. We then give the bearing a magnetic treatment (black or Black Oxide color) which provides corrosion protection and easy assembly. The races are further polished after treatment to ensure the smoothest possible race. These are the best bearings for the rear suspension.
