Tasting notes: A dark intense ruby red with scarlet rim. The wine has different layers of fruit, including blackcurrant, cherry and plum as well as a pleasant spicy aroma. Pure fruit is backed up by the balanced oak influence.

Good weight on the middle palate with a long lingering aftertaste of intense red berry aromas with hints of mocha and spice. The tannins are still young but soft and round, once again a perfect balance between fruit and oak. The wine shows excellent ageing potential.

Food Pairing: Red meats and heartier vegetable pastas.

Blend: Merlot 67% Pinotage 33% Vinification: Grapes are handpicked and sorted in the vineyards. The varietals were picked, vinified and matured separately for 10 months before blending, with a further 6 months of maturation before bottling. Minimal fining and interference before bottling to ensure protection of aromas. The wine was matured for 16 months in 300 litre French Oak barrels. 50% new fill, 30% second fill, and 20% third fill barrels.
