An old Buddhist bell, also known as tsurigane or just ogane. These can be found in Buddhist temples throughout Japan and south east Asia. These are used to summon monks for prayer and are usually made of bronze. The cultural sounds of this bell may differ depending on how and what it’s struck with. However, popularly these are struck on the exterior and have become a symbol of peace for Buddhists.
