The ultimate apparel fabric, merino wool accomplishes everything synthetics have been trying to imitate for generations. 

Long sleeved for sun coverage, protection from insects, and base layer warmth. Cuffed ankles and wrists allow you to roll them up or down for a custom fit. Stretchy gusset to added flexibility. As always our garments are made in Canada. 

This set will grow with your child thanks to the foldable wrist and ankle cuffs. 

What's the material like? 

Cold Weather (250GSM) 97% Superfine Grade Merino Wool with 3% spandex. Ideal for cool climates and as a winter base layer. Unbleached stretchy rib with a 75% Stretch. Knit from pre-shrunk yarn and not treated with plasma or super wash chemicals, but machine washable on cool with no issue.

Merino Wool is excellent for cloth diapered babies as it won't wick up moisture like cotton or bamboo and all of our apparel is made with a cloth diaper friendly fit and sizing, so order true to size! If you're using disposables you'll likely find you get even more out of the size range from this garment.

Not super-wash treated, but due to the nature of this superfine merino wool we have found this to be safe to wash in the machine without any felting occurrence or shrinkage  

Why choose merino wool?

Merino wool is arguably the best material you can choose as a winter base layer. Wool’s natural properties provide excellent thermal regulation-something small children can struggle with. Merino wool is light, soft, doesn’t itch, and effectively eliminates moisture. It can be worn multiple times between washes and the nature of merino wool's fibres allow it to be machine washed without felting and shrinking. Never too cool, or too hot in merino, your child's body can do its job and self-regulate temperate.

What is the cut and fit like? 

The Little Sprout grow with me sleeper has regular cut, designed to be not too tight and not too lose. The fabric is stretchy and fits the body shape of most every child comfortably. There is no spandex in this material but we dont find it becomes droopy thanks to the double knit method in which the fabric was made. The sleeper fits true to size for the recommended ages in our chart. 

For reference the modelled photos show an 8 month old, cloth diapered baby wearing size small in the warm grey. This baby has lots of room to grow with the size small. Also shown, a 2 year old wearing the size small in red. Both of these boys are wearing the same size 

NEW! Newborn, XS, and S (optional) now come with fold over hands and feet! Fold over cuffs work best when baby is at the lower end of the size range.
