After installing the new brake pads, it's important to bed them in; this will extend their lifespan. Bedding in the disc brake pads can be done by gently pulling the brake lever while riding. Make sure the pads are in contact with the brake disc. Ride for about 100 meters at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour (15 mph), then brake harder at the end to reduce your speed to about 5 kilometers per hour (3 mph). Then, slowly increase your speed while braking lightly. Repeat this process 10 to 12 times to ensure the new brake pads are properly bedded in.
