Vintage Palitoy / Parker Brothers Games Escape From Colditz Board Game. Released by Parker Brothers Games in 1973, and was devised by Major P.R.Reid, MBE, MC. Author of The Colditz Story and The Latter Days At Colditz and was the Technical Adviser on the BBC Television Series of the early 1970's. This fantastic Board Game is a family game for two to six players and is based on the now legendary exploits of Allied Prisoners of War held by the Germans in the multi national maximum security prison of Colditz Castle during the Second World War. The object of the game is for each player (Escape Officer) to be the first to achieve an escape of one or more of his POW team. He can obtain rope, food, compasses, clothing, wire cutters to achieve an escape. At the same time the German Security Officer is deploying his forces to prevent escapes. Fantastic condition board game, which is amazing especially when considering it is now 50 years old, the game is complete with all components being in very very good condition. The box does have some shelf wear mainly along the edges but is still sturdy and solid and clean and bright but the corners have had some splitting which has been repaired with tape.
