The DC-3 made its first flight on December 17, 1935.
During World War Il and thereafter, the DC-3 was operating as an airliner, transport aircraft and served many other duties. After the war, the Dakota's played an important role in the development of commercial aviation.
10,655 DC-3s were built and 4,937 under license. Before the war, KLM bought 23 DC-3s. De depicted PH-ARG is one of them.
