Discover the perfect blend of compactness and capability with the Raymarine Ray53, a VHF marine radio designed for boaters who demand reliability without the bulk. Whether you're navigating coastal waters or venturing offshore, this sleek unit delivers essential communication and safety features in a footprint that fits anywhere on your vessel. Its built-in GPS and Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) transform routine voyages into secure adventures, automatically sharing your position during emergencies for peace of mind on the water.
What sets the Ray53 apart is its thoughtful engineering for real-world marine use. Program your boat's MMSI number once, and unlock distress hailing, individual calls, and group communications that integrate seamlessly with your existing electronics. No more fumbling with separate GPS units—everything you need is right here, enhanced by optional external antenna support for superior signal lock in challenging environments like enclosed cabins.
In the unpredictable marine world, clear communication can be a lifesaver. The Ray53's 25-watt transmitter punches through interference across all US, Canadian, and international VHF channels, while its sensitive receiver ensures you hear every call. Dual/tri-watch modes let you monitor key channels like 16 without missing a beat, and the channel-scan function helps scout for traffic.
Built tough for the elements, it shrugs off splashes (IPX6/IPX7 rated), extreme temperatures, and high humidity. Power draw stays efficient—under 6A at full transmit—so it won't drain your batteries during long days afloat. For smaller vessels or tight spaces, its compact design (ideal for tenders or day boats) doesn't compromise on pro-level performance.

Ray53 Compact VHF Radio with GPS
Raymarine’s Ray53 radio is small in size but big on features and performance. Ray53 is a full-function VHF marine radio with Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and a built-in GPS receiver. Simply program your boat’s MMSI number into the Ray53 and immediately benefit from the enhanced calling and safety features of DSC. The Ray53 supports both NMEA2000 and legacy NMEA0183 networking which enables it to connect with other onboard electronics. Ray53 also supports the connection of an optional remote speaker (A80542) to provide audio at a second location.
Ray53 was designed to comply with the latest international regulations and includes a connection point for an optional GPS/GNSS antenna. The optional antenna improves the GPS reception when the radio is mounted below deck, in an enclosed pilothouse, or inside a metal enclosure.
Ray53 features an attractive industrial design that complements Raymarine’s Axiom family multifunction displays. The radio includes both a standard trunnion mounting kit as well as surface mounting hardware.
