Lots of tender and lovely very old small things today--just the sorts of things that make me the happiest! I don't come across early Victorian cased forget me nots like this one often, but when I do I always scoop them up, finding them completely charming and rather magical feeling--like antique reliquaries, but love tokens. And what I especially love about one is the reverse painting of the perimeter glass--looking just like pressed sea moss, but in soft blue. The three cloth flowers and cloth leaf at the center are pinned together but not quite tethered--easy to ease them back to the center if they've shifted though, as shown. (It does make this one better to display laid flat rather than hung.)
