Like all seat harnesses, the Point-7 windsurf seat harness is quite special. This is because the pressure point that the windsurfer exerts on the sail is much lower than with conventional harnesses. This means that longer Harness Lines and, if necessary, deeper Booms are used.
Ultimately, hip harnesses offer clear performance advantages. This is because they allow you to keep your center of gravity low while riding the Boom "high." Overall, this gives windsurfers significantly more control.
However, exceptions prove the rule, and some PWA riders, in particular Point-7 boss Andrea Cucchi, rely on seat harnesses. The advantage is clearly that they protect the back. The sail carries the experienced seat harness rider almost completely, minimizing stress on the lumbar spine. At the same time, the straps that go around the legs can be annoying.
The price-performance ratio is excellent, and this seat harness has been perfectly developed by Point-7 boss Andrea Cucchi.
The harness can be adjusted to the millimeter ensuring the optimal fit, comfort and output from your entire rig.
Thanks to the double webbing on the sides, the height of the hook can be changed. The hook can be placed higher on the body for strong winds and lowered for light winds to achieve extra power.
The leg straps can also be widened or tightened according to water conditions. They can be tightened hard to have a more seated stance in light wind. Loosening them up in wavy conditions will allow the legs to be more free to follow the water surface.
The padded hook now has a quick release system that allows you to wear the harness more comfortably. It can be opened with one hand in case of emergency.
