Muncie, Indiana once fielded a Class C minor league club known as the Fruit Jars, established in 1906 during the early boom of organized baseball. Named for the city's famous glass jar manufacturing industry, the team tied local pride to the national pastime. Small town clubs like this one gave communities an identity that outlasted the seasons they played. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
