DemeTECH’s Rapid Absorbable (PGR) suture is a coated, braided, sterile, synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of copolymers made of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. Suture is coated with a copolymer made from 30% glycolide 70% L-lactide and calcium stearate Notably, it is non-antigenic and causes only minimal tissue reactivity during the absorption process. What sets DemeTECH’s Rapid Absorbable apart from other synthetic absorbable sutures is its lower molecular weight. This characteristic allows it to be absorbed more quickly, with a absorption period of just 40 days.
