Narbutaite, Onutea (1956-)
Description:
Lithuanian female composer Narbutaitė. After the disappearance of the "Iron Curtain," she broke her previous silence and has shown outstanding talent. In her early years, her works were mostly chamber music with a unique texture, but in recent years her style has changed to large-scale works, which are included in this album. La barca" was written for a radio broadcast by the Bavarian Broadcasting Company. It is a descriptive piece that clearly depicts a small boat bobbing in the ocean and the state of mind of its occupants. No Yesterday, No Tomorrow" for solo voice and orchestra is based on a poem by Rilke. It expresses fragmented time. The "Symphony on the Coastline," written for the 50th Warsaw Fall Festival, symbolizes quiet scenes and distant memories, and expresses the persistent flow that leads to the first piece, "Little Boat. However, the scale is larger, and it is a mysterious work that encompasses a wide range of matters. Naxos Japan
