These Mayans are the real thing, not some cheap imitation that's made of lesser quality materials. These hammocks are made of extra-large string that's four times thicker than is used in an ordinary Mayan. Mayan weavers integrate natural dyes to protect their natural surroundings by reducing the amount of synthetic chemicals involved in the dyeing process. These hammocks are not colorfast so they will bleed and fade quickly under the rain and sun. This being said, it is best to store the hammock after use or you can leave it outdoors as long as it is protected by a hammock cover against the sun and rain.
