The sister estate to Chateau Mangot, this time in Castillon. A wonderful, fruit forward and fruit focused style of Bordeaux. Delicious blackberries and blueberries mix with warmed leather before a delightful, approachable and gentle palate.

Producer

This is one of the very few properties in St Émilion being elevated to Grand Cru Classé (as from the 2022 vintage). Situated to the east of the Saint-Emilion appellation, within the boundaries of Saint Étienne de Lisse, Château Mangot consists of 37 hectares in a single stretch, of which 34 hectares are planted with vines, all lovingly tended. The blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in inox for four months before 13-15 months in a mixture of new oak (30%), inox and amphora.
