The third release from the already highly successful "Black Focus" label, an obscene intersection of jazz and house in South London, is the latest album from Steve Spacek, a living legend and innovator in the UK soul scene! Steve Spasek has worked on a variety of projects ranging from left field to dance records, and this is his third album under his own name in two years, after the masterpiece "Natural Sci-Fi" released on the "Eglo" label. As the title suggests, the album is based on the house sound of Detroit, as is typical for a man who has been friends with J Dilla, Thaler, and the Platinum Pied Pipers, with a swinging jazz manner, pleasant accents of broken beats, and soulful melodies traced by a falsetto voice of smoky silver. The album was produced using iPhones and iPads for everything from beat-making to vocal recording, and following the anecdote that Madlib created the beats for "Bandana" with Freddie Gibbs almost exclusively on iPads, the evolution of technology has further deepened the core of Steve Spacek's dense creativity.
