Series 37] of the Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments is a continuation of Series 36, a major project to record the complete works of 18th century French composer Jacques Dufry's "Clavusan Pieces" (4 volumes) on the museum's treasured Blanchet harpsichord. This second part of the project includes "Volume 2," which brought Dufry to the height of his fame, and "Volume 3," which was his crowning achievement. Volume 3 includes a variety of new experiments, such as the inclusion of pieces with violin accompaniment. Master musician Shinichiro Nakano's brilliant fingerings bring back to our time the elegant music that colored the 18th century French rococo taste. This is the museum's culmination project that allows you to enjoy "18th century France" itself on the original instruments that lived in the same era as Dufry. ALM RECORDS/Kojima Recording
