Description:
The CD series "Contemporary Japanese Composers" has been produced and sold since 1992. The 58th collection features Yasuo Sueyoshi, who passed away in 2018, and left a significant mark in the field of education as well as creativity. Born in Tokyo in 1937, Yasuo Sueyoshi studied composition under Mareo Ishigeta and piano under Noboru Toyomasu. 1960 graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku), 1962 graduated from the same university, 1964 went to France, 1965 graduated from Ecole Normale de Musique, and 1965 became a student at Institut National de Musique et de Radio France. After staying in France for about a year and a half, he returned to Japan and has since served as a part-time lecturer at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and as a professor at Toho Gakuen School of Music, in addition to composing. He was also involved in educational activities by appearing in and planning NHK music education programs. It is noteworthy that he has produced not only composers but also many performers under his tutelage. He was also an honorary member of the Japan Contemporary Music Society, the Fauré Society of Japan, the Severac Society of Japan, and an advisor to the OTO Society, and produced many concerts. Sueyoshi's music liberates language from the mundane to the free imagination. This CD traces the trajectory of Sueyoshi's creative process through a series of works in the orchestration he loved so much. Fontek
