The Hamptons

There is something about The Hamptons I immediately fell for. I didn't' intend it.
 It was in spite of my best effort to be rather unimpressed; I fell hook line and sinker. Bewitched, bothered, and bewildered; what a beautiful and so American place. 
Inspired by time spent during the Summer meandering down streets and peaking through hedges and dazing into the sunshine sparkling through the trees. The Hamptons Collection is another unintended collection that bubbled to the surface from admiration and a sudden rush of falling in love with a place. 

ABOUT THE PIECE: I never get to paint en plein air; but here I took off my sandals, i dipped my toes, the waves crashed at my legs and my dress got sandy and wet and a plunked down and sketched; breathed in the air and felt so free. the birds played in the waves and I soaked in the color and the haze and the air and the absolute peace of the scene. This may be one of my favorite pieces of the collection.
