Description:
In 1965, at the age of only 17, he joined the Spencer Davis Group, and with the big hit "Gimme Some Lovin'," Steve Winwood attracted attention as a young musical prodigy. In 1967, he left the group and formed Traffic, a band that attracted attention as a new leader of the British rock scene. After a brief hiatus, he formed Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, but after one album and a U.S. tour, the group disbanded. Barleycorn Must Die" was released in 1970, and it became a hit, reaching No.11 in the UK album charts. The London show on April 30 will be recorded and broadcast for BBC Radio's popular music program "In Concert" during the UK tour that precedes the album release. The original master for the broadcast has now been discovered and released. The setlist for the day consisted of 12 songs, but at this point the program consisted of 10 songs, excluding two songs that were not included on the album. Traffic's sound, created by introducing the essence of various music such as British trad, jazz, and blues, still shines fresh even after 50 years, and this live album is a valuable archive to reaffirm the band!
