The MIRA Safety M4 CBRN Military Poncho is a polyamide-construction protective overgarment engineered by the Serbian military to shield skin and equipment from nuclear, biological, and chemical threats in gas, aerosol, and liquid form. Tested in accordance with the Military Standard of the Republic of Serbia (PKP 6468/07), it delivers over 120 minutes of protection against blister agents including mustard gas (S-yperit). Weighing under 650 g (approximately 23 oz) and packing into a vacuum-sealed storage cube, the M4 ships in three sizes and three color options — M-MDU-10 Serbian Digital Camo, Black, and Navy Blue — with a 15-year shelf life in original packaging.
The M4's special polyamide fabric creates a breathable yet impermeable barrier against contact hazards. S-yperit (mustard drops) testing of both materials and seams was conducted at a contamination density of 11 ± 1 mg S-yperit per 10 cm², with a breakthrough density threshold of 5 µg S-mustard per 1 cm² and a test tube dimension of Ø 20 mm at 23 ± 1°C. At those parameters, the M4 achieved a protection capacity exceeding 120 minutes using the drop-by-drop method. The polyamide construction also provides protection against nuclear fallout and chemical contaminants that penetrate through skin contact.

The coated polyamide fabric achieves a tensile strength exceeding 500 N/5 cm in the longitudinal direction and over 400 N/5 cm in the transverse direction. Tearing resistance surpasses 30 N/epr in both the longitudinal and transverse directions. The construction is tear-resistant, puncture-resistant, and designed for reuse, making it suitable for regular duty cycles in the field. The outer surface is weatherproof, providing reliable rain and environmental protection alongside its CBRN barrier function.
The M4 is designed to integrate with MIRA Safety gas masks and HAZ-SUIT protective garments, functioning as an additional outer layer within a layered CBRN protection system. It can also be worn as a standalone overgarment over standard clothing when a full suit is not available or required. The poncho's coverage extends to skin and equipment contact protection, complementing a full-face respirator for total-body CBRN coverage.
The M4 is available in Small, Medium, and Large. Small fits operators up to 170 cm (5'7"). Medium fits operators between 170 cm and 180 cm (5'7"–5'11"). Large fits operators over 180 cm (5'11"). Each unit ships vacuum-sealed in a water-resistant storage cube. For maximum shelf life, store in a dark room at +5°C to +25°C and 60% ± 10% relative humidity. In original packaging, shelf life is 15 years.
It protects against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats in gas, aerosol, and liquid form — specifically those that penetrate through skin contact. Testing was conducted against S-yperit (mustard gas), and the design addresses nuclear fallout and other contact-route contaminants. It does not substitute for respiratory protection; pair it with a full-face gas mask for complete CBRN coverage.
In S-yperit drop-by-drop testing at the specified contamination density, the M4 achieved protection exceeding 120 minutes. Real-world duration will depend on threat concentration, environmental conditions, and whether the garment has been previously exposed to contaminants.
Yes. The puncture-resistant polyamide construction is designed for reuse in field conditions. If the poncho has been exposed to actual CBRN agents, follow appropriate decontamination protocols before reuse or disposal. For uncontaminated use — rain, general field conditions — it functions as a standard weatherproof poncho with no restriction on reuse.
Small fits operators up to 170 cm (5'7"). Medium covers 170–180 cm (5'7"–5'11"). Large fits anyone over 180 cm (5'11"). If you are near a size boundary or need guidance on fit for use over additional equipment layers, contact us before ordering.
Keep the poncho in its original vacuum-sealed packaging in a dark room at +5°C to +25°C with 60% ± 10% relative humidity. Opening the vacuum seal or exposing the garment to temperatures or humidity outside this range may reduce shelf life. The water-resistant storage cube it ships in is suitable for long-term storage and field carry.
Yes. The M4 is designed to integrate with MIRA Safety gas masks and HAZ-SUIT protective garments as part of a layered CBRN system. It can also be worn as a standalone overgarment over regular clothing when a full suit is not practical.
