SINGLE SITE: LENNON VINEYARD, MCLAREN VALE

VINEYARD: 
Owned by Michael Lennon, the Carignan (along with Mourvedre and Cinsault) was planted in 2013 following the request made by our close friend, Brad Hickey of Brash Higgins (and fellow lover of Rhone varieties . Brad oversees the viticulture program with Michael Lennon. 

The vineyard is located closer to the ocean, sitting on grey and red mottled clay soils, which contribute richness, depth, and density to the resulting wines.

VINTAGE OVERVIEW:
The 2025 harvest arrived nearly a month early than average, producing small, concentrated berries. It was the driest season since 2003, which kept disease pressure low. The fruit held its balance and integrity, developing exceptional flavour and complexity that define the vintage.

HARVEST:
Hand harvested on the 18th February.

VINIFICATION:

• Whole Cluster Fermentation: Approx 30% final blend, held on skins for 5 weeks prior to drain and press.
• Elevage: Post press, elevage took place in a old 600L thick stave demi-muid for 10 months prior to bottling.
• Blending: The wine was bottled without fining or any further additions.
  

TASTING NOTES:
BOTANIC wines showcase the refinement and complexity of fruit and a clear expression of terroir.

• Profile: Vibrant red fruit (raspberry, cranberry), violet, earthy, black pepper spice.
• Structure: Medium to full body
• Aging: medium to long term
• Classification: Vegan Friendly, Natural ferments, No acidification.
