Yves Klein (1928-1962) was a French artist and a leading member of the French artistic movement of Nouveau réalisme. He was a pioneer in the development of performance art, and is seen as an inspiration to and as a forerunner of minimal art.
This is the exhibition catalogue for the 2005 exhibition Yves Klein: A Career Survey at L&M Arts, New York. The thirty-two feature works include Klein's best known images: sponge reliefs, monochromes, fire paintings, anthropometries, and planetary reliefs.
All 32 works are exquisitely reproduced in this rare and beautiful book which also features an essay Yves Klein: Supernova by Pepe Karmel, an interview with Rotraut Klein-Moquay and Daniel Moquay of the Yves Klein Estate, and a career chronology.
