The CDI 540 is a benchtop calibrator that accepts the CDI shunt sensors connected to the blood parameter module cable heads and exposes them to two known calibration gases (“Gas A” and “Gas B”) to establish a two‑point calibration curve.

It is used in conjunction with dedicated CDI calibration gas bottles that contain precisely defined pCO₂/pO₂ mixtures in a nitrogen balance, allowing the system to assign accurate reference values for pH, pCO₂, and pO₂.
