Dead Can Dance's fourth album, The Serpent's Egg (1988), was released at a prolific time, just four years after their debut. It was also the first time the band took the lead direction in their own studio. Minimalist and grandiose, it features fan favorites "The Host Of Seraphim" and "Ullyses," and is a wonderful example of Brendan and Lisa's relative influence on one another, elevated to something new and synaesthetic.
