Description:
Rome in 1676. The lute works of the Gautier family are revived. Rediscovering and recreating music from manuscript scores for the lute means entering a world now forgotten, and at the same time, bringing these pieces back to the present day leads us to recall the world of music at the court and in the salons of the nobility of that time. The project "Rome 1676" by Michele Carreca, a lutenist from Rome, Italy, who has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon, Harmonia Mundi, and others, will be a collection of works by the famous musician of the time, the old Gautier family. The project includes a collection of pieces for lute written by the old Gautier (Enumont) and his cousin Denis of the Gautier family, whose composers could not be identified in "A major" and "D minor" (the other three suites were written by Denis Gautier).
