Learn the essential skills that keep you safe, aware, and confident in the outdoors. This course blends practical navigation training with reliable radiocommunication and signaling methods used by NRS instructors in real backcountry operations. No experience is needed, we start from the ground up and build your capability step by step.
Knowing how to communicate and navigate effectively is the foundation of every successful backcountry trip. This course teaches you how to use modern tools like CalTopo and handheld radios, and more importantly, how to think through the process so you can move with confidence in any terrain.
