The SD-6 offers an external way of powering the Sound Devices MixPre 3 / 6 with NP-F batteries. The adaptor slots onto the rear of the mixer just like Sound Devices' original battery sled, this will click into place to ensure a secure connection.
A cable of 30cm allows to position the NP-F battery fitting away from the unit, should you need to. The NP-F battery fitting also has 2x Hirose chassis mounted outputs for powering other devices, these are 12V regulated.
