Whether you're a hobbyist building a scale model, a machinist needing a reliable spacer sleeve, or a DIYer fabricating a custom bracket, finding hollow brass tubing in the exact OD you need — without ordering a full bar stock — is frustrating. These brass round tubes are stocked in 14 incremental sizes so you can match your project spec without compromise.
Each tube is turned from solid brass stock to a consistent 2mm wall thickness, with outer diameters ranging from 6mm (≈1/4") to 19mm (≈3/4") and a fixed length of 300mm (≈11.8"). The inner diameter is always OD minus 4mm — for example, the 10mm OD tube has a 6mm ID (≈0.24"). Available in multiple OD sizes to suit a wide range of bore and sleeve requirements.
Typical applications include brass bushing sleeves for woodworking jigs, hollow standoffs for electronics enclosures, decorative tubing for lamp and furniture builds, and fluid-line spacers in plumbing prototypes. The 300mm length gives you enough material to cut multiple shorter pieces from a single tube.

Measure the shaft, rod, or bore your tube needs to fit around or inside. The OD (outer diameter) is the outside measurement; the ID (inner diameter) is the bore. All variants here have a fixed 2mm wall, so ID = OD − 4mm. For example, the 10mm OD tube has a 6mm ID (≈0.24"). If you need a 8mm ID, select the 12mm OD variant.
All tubes in this listing have a 2mm wall thickness. If you need a different wall thickness, please contact us — we carry additional profiles not listed here.
Brass is generally stronger than aluminum and more machinable than mild steel. It typically offers tensile strength in the range of 300–500 MPa depending on alloy grade, making it suitable for moderate-load structural and mechanical applications. For high-stress structural use, consult an engineer.
Brass is naturally corrosion-resistant and performs well in most outdoor environments. For prolonged saltwater or highly acidic exposure, a protective coating or marine-grade brass alloy is generally recommended. For typical garden, patio, or light outdoor hardware use, bare brass is typically sufficient.
Yes. Brass machines exceptionally well with standard HSS or carbide tooling. It can be cut with a hacksaw, pipe cutter, or bandsaw; drilled with standard twist bits; and tapped for threads without special tooling. Deburr cut ends with a file or deburring tool for a clean finish.
These are plain (unthreaded) round tubes. Compatibility with fittings depends on the OD you select. In most cases they fit standard metric compression fittings or can be tapped to accept metric or BSP threads. Always confirm the fitting bore size against the tube OD before ordering.
Each tube is 300mm (≈11.8") long. This gives you enough material to cut multiple shorter pieces for most hobby and DIY applications. For custom cut lengths, please contact us before placing your order.
