Description:
Following the release of Elvis Costello & The Imposters' Grammy Award-winning album "Look Now," Elvis Costello & Sebastian Criss Productions is proud to announce the release of its first new rock album in 10 years under the name "Elvis Costello & The Imposters" in 2018. The album "Look Now. The album won the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020, and is the first new album by Elvis Costello in two years. The album was co-produced with Sebastian Criss, as on the previous album. This album was recorded in Helsinki, Paris, and New York. All songs were mixed in LA by Sebastian Criss. The previously released singles "No Flag", "Hetty O'Hara Confidential", and "We Are All Cowards Now" were recorded solo in Helsinki by recording engineer Eetu Seppala in February of this year. The songs were recorded in Helsinki. He chose Helsinki because "I wanted to go to a place where no one knows me.They immediately traveled to Paris for a weekend session at Les Studios Saint Germain, where they recorded nine songs in two days. The Paris session was led by his friend Steve Nieve, and included an ensemble Costello had assembled in Paris named "Le Quintette Saint Germain " ("The Quintette Saint Germain"). "On the cover of the record I wanted to write "Helsinki-Paris-?????? " and I wanted to write 'Helsinki-Paris-.' Like a perfume or an ad agency." There was a possibility that "London" could be a third city, but London is my forever city, and I would go back. Then Michael sent me this music from New York at the perfect time. It tied in with elements from both the Helsinki and Paris sessions, so this added up and completed the picture." Costello said. The New York session was produced by composer/arranger/trumpeter Michael Leonhardt, with collaborations from guitarists Bill Frisell and Nels Cline, and was completed by Costello, who added lyrics and vocals to the music "through the electrical wire. Costello "put his lyrics and vocals into the music" through "electrical wires" to complete the album. Some of the songs are loud and intense, others are intimate and beautiful, but in any case, I wanted the album to be alive and vivid," says Costello. 180g heavy vinyl 2LP
