Leila (Techno)
Description:
The electronica version of Björk, discovered by Aphex Twin, Ehime Leila, has suddenly transformed into an avant-garde artist! A new dimension of electro sound that mixes experimental pop and aggressive beats! Layla has chosen Mount Sims, known for his releases on DJ Helu's Gigolo label, as her collaborator for this album. Leila, who had long admired his music, immediately hit it off with Sims, who was an important production partner for this work. Sims visited Layla several times, then sent her a cappella recordings over the Internet to begin production, and the two worked together so well that the album was completed in a surprisingly short time (in the case of "Anyway" and "U&I," Layla completed the a cappella songs in 30 minutes after receiving them from Sims). (In the case of "Anyway" and "U&I," Leila wrote the songs in 30 minutes from a cappella recordings from Sims.) ) This album is a dramatic transformation from their previous work, with a new avant-garde sound that blends beats and noises. The album also features an aggressive beat reminiscent of Clarke's on "activate i," as well as an elepop track with Sims on vocals and an Outeeka-esque noise track that will surely surprise Leila fans. The album cover features a very unusual image of a computer crashing, showing the inner workings of the computer (suggesting an intense truthfulness, as if the organs and skeleton can be seen when looking at a human being), and is a new representation of Leila that overturns her previous image. This is an album that defies her past image and represents a new Leila! Includes a bonus track on the Japanese edition. DIS
